Why this site exists

Layered puzzle boards get written about as though the tiles were the point. On most stages they are not: the game is counting something underneath them, and the coloured pieces are just the mechanism for getting at it. Saying that plainly, and then working out what follows from it, turned out to need a whole site rather than a paragraph.

There is no team behind it and no plan to grow one. It is one person in Toronto writing down what he worked out about a genre he plays.

How long a reply takes

Usually a couple of business days. Messages sent over a weekend or an Ontario statutory holiday get picked up the next working day, so something sent late on a Friday is normally answered on Monday or Tuesday. If a week goes by with nothing, the message probably did not arrive — send it again rather than assume it was ignored.

Things worth writing about

• A stage that no longer behaves the way a section here describes it.
• A correction of any size: a stale detail, a loose term, a link that has died.
• An order for the Jelly Layer Notebook, or a question about one already placed.
• A request under PIPEDA — access, correction, withdrawal of consent, deletion of correspondence.
• A copyright or trade mark concern, handled as set out in the Third-Party Disclaimer.

Things this address genuinely cannot fix

Store accounts, card charges, refunds, lost progress and an app that will not open all belong to the store and the developer. There is no route from this mailbox into either of those, and writing here first only delays getting the problem to somebody who can act on it.
